The Green Inferno had her hanging her head in shame and apologising (for the first time ever) for the time I would never get back.

I've said before that myself and the missus take it in turns to pick movies and I'm the one who generally picks the terrible ones (see 'Trick'). Trying to stay hidden while being hunted.high vis gear is clearly the answer to that.Ĭannibals tortured, killed and ate your friends.go to bat for them (something something big corporations). That said, the ultra woke twist at the end.makes you definitely favour the later in respect of the lead. Beyond a little scene setting at the start and a ridiculous twist at the end.literally that's itĪs much as the cast do well, their characters are so unlikeable and unrealistic, you really couldn't care less if they live or die. The rest of the film is simply seeing how much gruesome torture porn, they can get away with. Otherwise this would have been one of those rare occasions where 1 star would have been warranted. The 2 star rating is only as a result of the cast acting well with a terrible script & plot along with some nice visual shots.

For anyone else, I'd recommend watching something. If you're a diehard horror fan who is a fan of guts and gore, you might somewhat enjoy the Green Inferno. As the movie went on, I felt it got progressively worse and the ending was abysmal at best. It really was unsettling to watch some of the more infamous scenes. Ignoring that, the gore was quite realistic and incredibly barbaric. I'm sure they love knowing that they were actually used as bloodcurdling savages in the movie. Even more so as the actual tribe was real and were apparently incredibly nice humans. And on that note, the gore was a major detriment to the natives who were horribly stereotyped throughout this flick. It was so bad at times, my favorite part of the Green Inferno ended up being the gore, simply due to how graphic it was vs how awful everything else was. But after seeing her friends brutally slaughtered and eaten, there is no way that the main character would have not only defended the Natives, but lied to make it seem like they were a peaceful people.Īcting relatively good, beautifully shot with incredible visuals but overall, just another wholly forgettable "horror" movie. This tactic may have been effective if the Natives were shown to have mercy in any way. Then in the end, the movie seems to portray them as being "morally correct" in their ways and even goes as far as to imply that they are better than those of society. They wrote the Natives as vicious, unsympathetic murderers who would mangle people while they were still alive and screaming. However, the main issue I had with the movie was the "twist" at the end. The characters weren't developed enough for the audience to really care about them, and so it made their deaths less impactful. While the gore and deaths made for a scary watch, the storyline was heavily flawed. I can see what the movie was trying to do, but it was a swing and a huge miss.
